St Jude Fundraising

It's St Jude Fundraising TIME!!!

Welcome to the Create-a-thon for Curing Kids!! Or CatCK for short!  So what is this event???

We have gathered some amazing Creative streamers from around the world.  Starting at 10am ET Thursday December 14th, each streamer will show off some amazing fabric from JOANN Fabrics that has been printed with patient artwork.  But what if they don't sew? I didn't say they were necessarily sewing! (Although some are trying it for the first time ever!)

Make sure you tune in as much as you can!!

So what fabric will they be using?? All different ones!! Tune in to see which of these fabrics each streamer will use (and see up close the gorgeous fabrics).

Donate and win! Every $5 donated to St Jude through ANY of the above participating campaigns earns a ticket “to win”. We have some pretty cool things we are giving away including this one of a kind St Jude Skate deck!

You do NOT need to be present to win! Check out the current list of giveaway items here.

We are also having another Sewing Race!!

Hosted by Fierce Kittenz!!!

Sign up to Race Live - Cost $40 usd

  • Everyone who "beats" Toni in the Race is eligible for a $15 gift card to Quiltoni.com.
  • Register between November 16th and December 15th to participate.
  • You must know how to use Zoom before the race.
  • You must log in by 1:30pm ET into the Zoom meeting (link will be provided on the 14th) or you will not be included in the race. We will be going live at 1:40pm ET and starting the race shortly after 2pm ET.
  • Your camera angle must be able to show you at your main sewing machine and show the progress of your quilt.
  • Do NOT open your Jelly Roll until we are live and I say GO (Don't forget to take a picture of you and your unopened Jelly Roll for Best in Show prize) UNLESS you are making your own Jelly Roll.
  • NEW - For this race only, you may make your own Jelly Roll if you include ANY of the St Jude patient art fabric printed by Joann Fabrics. If you do this, you must have 40 2 1/2 inch strips at least 40 inches in length.  You must have this cut and ready for the race and a photo taken of the strips to be eligible. Before the race starts, the strips must be in a single pile so there is no advantage to cutting your own strips.
  • You may use up to an additional 2 yards of a single fabric.  This is OPTIONAL and should only be done if you want to purposefully slow yourself down or go for Best in Show.
  • Your Jelly Roll must have 40 strips of 2 1/2" fabric.
  • If you have won a race previously you must make at least 2 cuts into each strip of fabric. You can do this before or after sewing the strips together.
  • You may not have an additional person helping, this is all you.  Ironing, Sewing, assembly, everything. ALL YOU.
  • You may pre-wind Bobbins.
  • We are only making the tops.  You do not need to finish off your quilt.
  • To be eligible for the Grand Prize or Gift Certificates, your top must be completely finished, ironed, and ready for basting.
  • Please remember to keep voice chat PG and free of politics and religion
  • If you are outside the shipping area for any prize you can opt to pay for shipping to win that prize.
  • Automatically eligible for Best in Show and you do not need to donate another $30 for Make a Quilt.

Sign up to Make a Quilt - Cost $30 usd

  • Register between November 16th and December 17th to participate.
  • If you are outside the shipping area for any prize you can opt to pay for shipping to win that prize.
  • Submit 2 photos by December 18th 11:59pm ET to toni@quiltoni.com.
  • First photo of you holding the jelly roll (or your strips if you cut them). I must be able to see the fabric in the Jelly roll and your face (this is only for me and will not be published).
  • Second photo of the Finished Quilt Top only.  Do NOT finish your quilt until you have taken this picture.  This is a contest of tops, not of quilting.
  • You may use up to an additional 2 yards of a single fabric.  This is OPTIONAL..  You still need to use all 40 strips of fabric.
  • You may not have an additional person helping, this is all you.  Ironing, Sewing, assembly, everything. ALL YOU.
  • All Quilt Top photos will be displayed on Quiltoni's Social Media and voting will be open Dec 19th - Dec 22nd.  The quilt top with the most votes at 6:00pm et Dec 22nd wins! (I will not be putting names or screen names with the photos).
